Peggy Price

Margarita “Peggy” Price was elected to represent District 3, which includes Imperial, Seeley, and areas of El Centro. She is a dedicated wife, mother, and grandparent to six. A proud resident of Imperial Valley for over 38 years, Ms. Price pursued higher education at Imperial Valley College, the University of Phoenix, and San Diego State University, where she earned her master’s degree in public administration.

With 25 years of experience at the county level, Ms. Price has made significant contributions to public service. She served six years as the Director of the Department of Social Services, overseeing critical programs such as child and adult protective services, victim services, foster care and adoptions, workforce development and training, Continuum of Care (housing/homeless programs), Medicaid, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, In-Home Supportive Services, and the operations of the Imperial County Family Justice Center and the Betty Jo McNeece Receiving Home.

In addition to her extensive public service experience, Ms. Price has served on multiple boards that influence federal and state legislative, budget, and policy priorities on behalf of the state and local communities. She is currently the Director of Managed Care at Innercare, a health organization providing comprehensive primary health care services to residents throughout Imperial County.

Ms. Price's commitment to public service began over 30 years ago as a Girl Scout Leader. She served on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts San Diego-Imperial Counties for eight years. Her dedication to lifting and supporting women and children extends to other service organizations such as Soroptimist International. She is also a long-time Rotarian and a past president.

Beyond her leadership in social services and community organizations, Ms. Price has contributed to numerous boards and committees dedicated to improving health care, labor, agriculture, business, and addressing issues that impact women, youth, and families.

“The Board of Supervisors has a critical responsibility to ensure we’re all working together to expand opportunities, promote well-being, and improve lives in our communities. I look forward to bringing this collaborative approach to the Board,” Price said.
